Web 2.0 NY

September 20, 2008

I went to web 2.0 NY this week and just came back to Philly. I mainly focused on those two tracks , performance and scaling and development .

They are pretty interesting and I learned some good ideas from the speakers. One of the most important ideas I got from Joe is “web 2.0 sucks (in term of scaling)” . I have to admit that I am still working on some web 1.0 website( ) ,but I can still see lots of penalty for our website because of customiziation.

Web 2.0 gives users more and more ability to take part in constructing content of your website. That lets people can express themselves just like they are in Rome 😉 There are many new scenarios that we will meet / are meeting now or in future. Memcached/ MemcacheDB and other cache tools will be deployed more and more. Let’s keep an eye on them.

Technology is really fun!
